Three brand new hotels in the center of Athens give us ideas for luxury staycations

As part of our continued commitment to sustainability and responsible hospitality, Anthology of Athens is proud to announce that the hotel has officially achieved LEED Gold certification, one of the world’s most rigorous benchmarks for sustainable building and operation.
This milestone recognizes a holistic approach to environmental responsibility, innovation, and guest well-being. Among the key elements acknowledged within the LEED Gold framework is the first Grey Water System ever implemented in an urban hotel in Greece, allowing water from showers and washbasins to be treated and reused for WC flushing. This system alone delivers daily water savings of approximately 4–5 cubic meters, significantly reducing our freshwater footprint.
Sustainability at Anthology of Athens extends beyond systems and infrastructure. The property features extensive green architecture, including the tallest vertical planted garden in Athens, rising 25 meters and covering 100 sq.m., alongside planted rooftops and balconies that collectively represent 25% of the total plot area.
Our Smart Hotel operation integrates automated KNX systems, continuous energy monitoring, high-efficiency VRV air-conditioning, and LED lighting throughout the building, ensuring optimal performance with minimal environmental impact. At the same time, guests benefit from exceptional indoor environmental quality, with abundant natural daylight, low noise levels, clean air, and uninterrupted visual connections to nature.
Through innovative, biophilic design and continuous indoor air-quality monitoring, Anthology of Athens redefines what sustainable urban hospitality can be — seamlessly combining comfort, aesthetics, and responsibility.
